This is my VW page. Pics of my buses, friends buses, VW info and more. Enjoy!

I have owned VW buses, beetles, ghia’s, etc since I was 14 years old. Im mainly a bus guy but Ive played/lived in em all. Currently I own a few bay window buses, an old ratty splitty and a few beetles. The 1971 Super Beetle is my daughters first car. Our great friends Marvin and Vicki (Im sure there will be more about them on the site sooner or later) helped my daughter and I get it running and on the road while they were camped in our driveway. One of the best parts of our 2010 summer too!

Im far from a VW Guru but I have learned quite a bit over the years. If you drive a bus, your a friend of mine, if your ever broke down, contact me and Ill do all I can to get you back on the road. I belong to the best bus club on the planet and we have folks nation wide who are willing to help their bus brethren.

If there is ANYTHING you take away from this page, please let it be… CHANGE YOUR FUEL LINES! A bus fire is the last thing you want to have and the last thing I want to hear about. Even if the guy you just bought your bus from says “Oh yeah man, the fuel lines are new”. Guess what, just so happens, the previous owner is a burnt out hippie that is strung out on crack and only bought the bus to flip it for $$$ plus, he wouldnt know a VW if it crawled up his ass and laid beetle eggs in his grandmothers picnic basket…. See even I dont know what Im talking about.CHANGE YOUR FUEL LINES!

Now on to the fun stuff… There is nothing that compares to rolling down the road in a VW bus. It is a stress reliever, a companion, an alter ego, a home, a hobby, therapeutic activity and for me, part of the family. Currently my main driver is Bertha. She has taken us across more states than I can count, we have spent countless nights in her, there have been many, many parties inside, she has taken us to many festivals and concerts. My dog feels safe just hanging out in the bus, I enjoy a tune up, valve adjustment and just looking her over to make sure all is okilie dokilie. If you own a bus you know what Im talking about, if youve never owned one… I feel sorry for you. All that said, dont rush out and buy one. There are 3 types of bus owners. (A) The bus owner who is always working on his bus by himself, with a friend or in the extreme cases he takes it to a fellow bus owner to handle the big stuff. (B) The bus owner who has the $$$ to get all the work done at a local shop. (C) The bus owner that has the $$$ but also wants to learn about and have some hands on with their bus. They do the little things but usually have someone else working on their bus. If you dont have the $$$ and not willing to get your hands dirty… DONT buy a bus. The moral to all that is… Unless you build it from the ground up, your bus always needs some work. They are up to 50+ years old, unless its all new there is always gonna be something breaking and usually its one thing after another.

FMBC: What is it and is there a cure? Full Moon bus Club & NO, there is no cure… Im the new kid on the block over there, I help maintain the web site and hit as many of the camp outs as possible. Head over and check it out if you are a “Dub-Head”. I found out about these folks while lining one of my parrots cages with old newspaper….FMBC WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MY ENTIRE LIFE?!? This is a group of VW enthusiasts but thats just the web site. Its actually a family of past/present/future VW Bus owners, they are scattered out everywhere. This is a family of awesome folks who love to camp and will bend over backwards to help a brother/sister bus driver. The FMBC has become my alternative family of choice. I dont agree with all of them, I dont share similar interests with everyone (aside from VW”s), I disagree with some, and I even avoid one or two. Im sure the feelings are mutual across the board BUT I love every last one of them and would give the shirt off my back to help if it is needed. You could not genetically enhance a better group of people to call family. I can ramble on forever about how great the club and its members are but just head over to the site and you will see what I mean. CHANGE YOUR FUEL LINES!

More to come…
