Gregg Allman & Friends Confirm Summer Tour
Gregg Allman & Friends have confirmed a number of summer dates. The group will open its summer tour at San Diego’s Humphrey's By The Bay on July 14 and make stops in a number of California markets: Anaheim (7/15), Ventura (7/17) and Brooks (7/18), San Francisco (7/21-22). Allman and company will then move to Nevada for appearances in Lake Tahoe (7/24) and Wendover (7/25), before focusing on the Allman Brothers Band for the remainder of the summer. Allman will play both guitar and organ in his solo group, which also includes Floyd Miles (vocals, percussion), Bruce Katz (keyboards), Steve Potts (drums), Jay Collins (horns), Scott Sharrard (guitar) and Jerry Jemmott (bass).

Fire At The Georgia Theatre
The Georgia Theatre in Athens has been damaged by a massive fire which began earlier this morning. Police have reported that the venue became engulfed in flames shortly after 7AM. The venue has hosted numerous groups over the years, including area natives Widespread Panic, REM and the B-52s as well as such groups as Phish, RatDog, moe., Gov't Mule, Galactic, the Disco Biscuits and Umphrey's McGee. Perpetual Groove had been slated to open a two night stand at the venue this evening and these shows may well have to be postponed or moved. Stay tuned for additional information.
